Loft. Just the word conjures up images of rough and tumbled edges. Cool hip places. Urban atmosphere. It has personality. It has substance. Just like the lofts themselves, the idea of loft is as different and inspired as the people who dwell in them. As loft has moved around the country, it has become different things for different people. And it has just as much to do with the people responsible for creating them as it does for the organic evolution of the architecture.

"I save old buildings, one at a time. I make an old piece of Chicago's history vibrant and new again. I recycle them and make them viable for the next generation. It makes me happy that a terra cotta facade from what used to be an old factory can survive and become someone's home. It is my love for Chicago and my adoration of her buildings that speak her past, that inspire me to create new and beautiful homes for people to enjoy. It is the people of Chicago–the people of my past and present and future–that have inspired the lifestyle that each building can offer."
